Help Uploading Documents
You can use any smartphone—iPhone or Android—to scan documents. A “scan” is just a clear, flat photo that your phone turns into a clean portable document format (PDF) or image. Follow these simple steps.
How to Scan Documents
Place Document on Flat, Smooth Surface
- Avoid shadows—especially from your hands or the phone.
Take Photo with Your Phone’s Camera or Scanner
- Camera apps: Take a picture.
- Scan with iPhone: Open the Files app and choose Scan Documents.
- Scan with Android: Many Android phones automatically show a “Scan” button. If not, open the Google Drive app and choose Scan.
Save the Scan
- Camera apps: Save to your Photos.
- iPhone Files or Notes: Select Save (it saves as a PDF).
- Android Google Drive: Select Save and choose a folder.
What Size Should the File Be?
For high-quality, readable documents:
- 1-3 MB per page, or
- Under 5 MB for a multi-page PDF
TIP: Use “Optimize File Size” if the photo is too large
