MNsure sends letters (notices) to explain your health insurance eligibility and tell you if you need to take action. If you get a letter, read it carefully. Some letters give you a deadline to respond.

Log in to your MNsure account. Select "My Inbox" to see a list of letters MNsure has sent you.
In rare cases, you may get a letter from MNsure in the mail that does not show up in your account.
How to Spot an Official MNsure Notice
- Check the Logo: Official letters will always have the MNsure logo at the top of the page. It says "MNsure" with a small map of Minnesota.
- Look for the Notice ID: Most notices have a unique number. You can find this near the date or at the bottom of the page.

Claim Your MNsure Account
Enroll in a Plan
- MNsure Health Care Eligibility Notice: After you’ve applied, this tells you if you can get insurance and if you qualify for help paying for it. We may need more information to see if you are eligible. If you’re approved for a qualified health plan, you can pick a plan now.
- Submit Documents for Your Life Event: You need to upload proof of your qualifying life event. For example, a copy of a marriage certificate if you got married.
- You’re Eligible: Shop and Enroll: You qualify to enroll and can pick a plan now.
Renew Your Current Plan (Once a Year)
- Renewing Your Coverage: Sent every fall. It reminds you about the open enrollment period.
- Important Information Regarding Your MNsure Coverage: Sent every fall. It tells you if we could automatically renew your current health or dental plan for next year.
For Employers
- Employer Shared Responsibility Notice: Mailed to employers. Sent if one of their workers is eligible for help paying for a plan through MNsure.
Common Questions about Notices
I got a letter about Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare. Why isn't it here?
If your letter is about Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare, it may be from your county, tribal agency, Department of Human Services, or your health plan (if you have one). Use the contact information on the letter to get help.
What if my letter isn't on this list?
Don't worry! You can call MNsure at 651-539-2099 (855-366-7873 outside the Twin Cities) or find a local navigator to explain the letter to you for free.
