Overview of METS Navigator Portal

This page gives an overview of the METS Navigator Portal, including benefits, features and limitations.

Overview of the METS Navigator Portal

  • MNsure-certified navigators and CACs that meet the requirements and complete navigator portal training are assigned a METS Navigator Portal reference number.
  • Consumers need to log in to their LoginMN account and perform the steps to authorize the navigator or CAC to act on their behalf. (A consumer must have an online LoginMN account created for this process.)
  • The consumer then uses the navigator or CAC reference number to authorize them to act on their behalf through their METS Navigator Portal account. They have the option to either complete their application or log out, allowing the authorized assister to log in and proceed on their behalf.

Navigators: Consumer authorizations made through the METS Navigator Portal streamline the navigator per-enrollee payment process.

Capabilities

  • An assister dashboard provides a list of the consumers who authorized them to perform tasks on their behalf and see the status of their most recent application in METS.
  • The ability to start, resume and/or submit an application for financial assistance on behalf of consumers that have provided their authorization.

Limitations

  • Does not allow assisters to correct errors or report changes to an application that has been submitted.
  • There are some notices that are not visible through the navigator portal. The consumer may need to log in to their own MNsure account to view notices.
  • Consumer’s tax forms are not available through the navigator portal. For more information on tax forms, visit the Tax Information page in the Helping Consumers section.
  • An assister cannot be in the navigator portal in a consumer’s account at the same time a consumer is in their online account.
